Laser Genesis for Pigmentation, Redness & Skin Rejuvenation
Laser Genesis is a gentle laser that targets diffuse redness, reduces inflammation and stimulates collagen, improving the health and general appearance of skin
Laser Genesis uses a long pulsed NDYag technology to gently heat the skin.
It is a treatment suited to those with red, sensitive skin types and rosacea. It is not a painful laser, and is much more comfortable than traditional rosacea laser treatments. Most people enjoy the warm feeling of the treatment, which can become addictive!
What does the Laser Genesis laser treat?
We use the Laser Genesis in combination with other modalities in a treatment course to treat:
- Redness
- Pigmentation
- Rosacea
- Acne and Acne Scarring
- Large pores
- Poikiloderma (red/ brown colour to the skin on the chest and neck due to prolonged sun damage)
- Surgical scars, especially early stage scars when scars are red (< 12 months)
- ageing skin concerns such as lines and wrinkles
- Onychomycosis (Toe Nail Fungus treatment)
For those with fairer skin and redness, a regular Laser Genesis treatment is the best no downtime treatment to keep your skin healthy and prevent the signs of ageing.

Downtime / Aftercare
Immediately after Laser Genesis, your skin will feel warm, smooth and plump. It may stay pink for a few hours, resolving as a beautiful glow. Mineral makeup may be applied if desired. There is no significant downtime- it’s a lunchtime treatment.
During your treatment course, we will use different modalities to address skin issues such as redness, dilated vessels, sensitive skin, enlarged pores and skin barrier. In this case you may have more extensive downtime- we’ll discuss this during your consultation.
Treatment Plan
Our initial dermal therapy programme is 6 sessions every 2- 4 weeks, combined with a prescribed home care program.
A course of treatment will result in reduced skin inflammation and redness, improvement in acne and scarring and refinement of pores and skin texture. Maintenance treatment every 4- 6 weeks is advised.

How does the Excel V+ Work?
Excel V works by administering a unique high power green laser that is absorbed by the abnormal blood vessels in the skin. The laser heats the abnormal vessels causing the vein walls to collapse and seal shut. Over time, the vessels will no longer be visible. Several treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired result.
The Procedures Benefits
Unlike other procedures, injections or topical anesthesia are not required during the 15 - 30 minute treatment. To minimise discomfort and protect the patient's skin, the Excel V uses a proprietaary cooling system. Most patients experience a mild stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. Following the procedure the pain is minimal to non-existent. The Excel V is a highly effective machine that usually requires fewer treatments to achieve results. The possible side effects are few, although some patients may experience a slight reddening or local swelling of the skin. Some patients may experience bruising and in rare cases some blistering may occur. Most patients find that the majority of treated veins show significant improvement within 2 to 6 weeks, however your final result may not be apparent for several months.
The number of treatments depend on the size, thickness and colour of the vascular lesion. Superficial lesions are usually easiest to treat and some patients experience a significant improvement after just one treatment. With other patients two or more treatments may be needed to achieve the desired results.
